Terme Merano offers visitors the ultimate relaxation experience in a unique setting between Alpine mountain peaks and a Mediterranean urban atmosphere. Star architect Matteo Thun, who designed the Merano facilities, has created a modern oasis at the heart of this historical spa. The big glass cube is a convincing example of the clean lines of modern architecture; it also offers breathtaking views of the mountains and gives visitors the feeling of being in skin contact with the world of nature. Nestling in the extensive grounds of the spa’s own park with its shady groves under mature cypress trees, Terme Merano has thirteen indoor pools and twelve more in the outdoor area (open from mid-May to the end of September) as well as a sauna complex comprising eight saunas and steam baths. In summer especially, the inviting spa park with its romantic lily pond and bathing trail is the ideal place to while away the time. For the more energetic, there is also a Fitness Center with everything the active heart desires. And the Spa & Vital Centre provides a wide range of treatments based primarily on natural South Tyrolean produce such as apples, grapes, whey, wool, chestnuts and hay, as well as its own range of apple-based cosmetics.
