Trauttmansdorff Castle & the botanical gardens

A splendour of flowers in Mediterranean Merano/Meran

Trauttmansdorff Castle is one of the most enchanting sights in Merano/Meran, as it is surrounded by the botanical gardens, which are an absolute paradise for flower and plant lovers in both the spring and summer.

The Trauttmansdorff Castle botanical gardens are open to visitors from 1 April to 15 November. Roughly 80 different garden landscapes extend over an area of roughly 12 hectares - sun gardens, forest gardens, water gardens, terraced gardens, from alpine to Mediterranean to the exotic await you here.

In the summer months, numerous concerts take place on the floating stage in the lake at the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle as part of the World Music series of events. Numerous world-famous stars have presented their music and wowed audiences in front of the breathtakingly beautiful scenery of the gardens.

Trauttmansdorff Castle, where Empress Sissi of Austria once spent her spa break, also accommodates the Touriseum, the South Tyrol national museum for tourism. So set off on a wonderful voyage of discovery through the garden landscapes of Trauttmansdorff Castle and do not miss the events in this magical setting! Tickets for the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are available from our reception.
