raw water, carved rock – the passirio gorge
from st. leonhard to moos, the river passirio has carved its way through solid rock. what remains is a stunning gorge – now walkable via bridges and paths over 10.6 km. a journey through forest and stone, echoing with water and wind. shady, cool and wildly impressive – perfect for summer. a place where nature takes center stage and tells its own story.
summer & winter hike – passeiertal
the egger-grub-alm is a true all-rounder: an easy panoramic hike in summer, a sunny and quiet winter walk in the back of the passeiertal when snow conditions are right.
summer
perfect for anyone looking for a short but rewarding hike with views. the starting point is above stuls at the hochegghöfe (parking available). from here, follow either the wide farm road for an easy walk or take the more sporty forest trail (path no. 14) up to the alm. at the top, wide alpine meadows of the stuller mahder open up, with sweeping views of the texel and ötztal alps. short in distance, big on panorama.
winter
in good weather and snow conditions, this route turns into a beautiful winter hike. the path is usually prepared and easy to walk, leading through light forest and sunny slopes up to the egger-grub-alm. at the top, the same wide views await – this time over snowy meadows and white peaks of the texel group and ötztal alps.
important note: shortcuts between switchbacks are usually not recommended in winter – better stay on the prepared path.
equipment: snowshoes, hiking poles, traction aids
extra fun: bring a sled for the way down – totally worth it.

ideal as a relaxed half-day hike, easy to combine with a break and lots of time to enjoy the landscape.
start at the vorderkaser parking lot or gasthof jägrast. the wide forest trail nr. 39 leads easy through larch woods into the valley. quiet, simply beautiful. after about 45 minutes the mitterkaser alm appears at 1,954 m, shortly after the rableidalm. then almost flat, straight through nature. after another 45 minutes you reach the eishof: lovely food, friendly hosts, and that amazing glow everywhere.

spronser lakes – blue. stone. stillness.
ten glacial lakes high above tirolo. between 2,100 and 2,500 meters – pure color, wide skies, ancient silence. ibex on the ridges, marmots in the rocks. this is not a shortcut. it’s a slow arrival. clear. raw. unforgettable.
dawn on the slopes
before you: no one.
an early start—but absolutely worth it. on selected saturdays, the lifts at schwemmalm open as early as 7 a.m. the first descent on pristine slopes, the first light touching the peaks of val d’ultimo. and then, a must: a generous breakfast at a mountain hut. hard to beat a morning like this, wouldn’t you agree?
